Additional Record Info:
Between these two anglers, there are three ILSFA World Records; two to Ernie Polk's name and now this one to Joey Polk's credit as angler. It's their second large tiger shark released in the thousand pound range, and a fine example the teamwork required to properly handle larger animals like this. This sequence of photos was taken from video submitted for verification.

Sizing up the situation ...

Ernie prepares a tail rope for use in controlling the animal for documentation and release.

They've done this before and know the importance of teamwork and safety for them and the fish.

With the tiger secure and settled down, the team takes total and fork length measurements.

Total length measurement, tip to tail, 12 feet, 9 inches.

Girth measurement, 6 feet, 5 inches.

After tagging this large female tiger, they send her on her way.
